My name is Mindi Jones and I do portrait photography. Weddings , seniors, families, babies, the family pet....you name it. Photography is my passion. I also own a hair salon, so I have an eye for what looks good. I am a Salem native, I love the outdoors, I do a lot of hiking and I, of course would not leave home without my camera. I began my artistic journey with photography in 1996, becoming enamored with the sacred relationships we all hold with one another and specifically, our landscape. During 2007, I took a trip from Tanzania to Thailand, photographing various cultures in the context of a project called, 'Sacred Faces, Sacred Places.' By the word sacred, I meant, something that holds meaning not only in our religious landscapes, but in the mundane tasks that become part of who we are in each present moment and over the course of this human experience. I try to exude that meaning in my photographs, multimedia, art projects, and daily life. I specialize in artistic photography, candids, digital storytelling and production.

I take my inspiration from the exuberance and magic in nature and the playful, joyous spirit that lives in us all. My paintings evoke a rainbow of color and spirit, and remind us of the childlike wonder that makes each one of us, as well as the world around us, part of the triumphant dance of life. I currently live in the Portland, OR area, and my prints and cards can be purchased at Journey's in Salem and cher-odum.fineartamerica.com.
